Bicycle Roundabout 4

Well the roundabout is now complete! All that's left to do is the landscaping inside and outside the circle.

Bicycle Roundabout 3

Still three-quarters finished.
But people can use it now.

Photo was taken on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Looking "upriver" from the Lafitte Street side of the block, and Bayou Saint John. Soon the last quadrant shall be built and the Lafitte Greenway Bikepath will be connecting into it.

But if you compare it with the progress of the construction in Bicycle Roundabout 2, you'll notice that the construction crew has taken a piece of the roundabout out for some reason. Otherwise it would be complete!

Bicycle Roundabout 2

Progress on the new Bicycle Roundabout in New Orleans: it is paved with cement a little more than three-quarters of the way around.

Looking at it from the "LAKE" side at an angle from "UPRIVER."

Looking at it from the "LAKE" side head on.

Looking at it from the "LAKE" side at an angle looking from "DOWNRIVER."

(In Mid-City New Orleans, "LAKE" is roughly northwest, "UPRIVER" is roughly southwest, "DOWNRIVER" is roughly northeast.)

Bicycle Roundabout.

Here's something interesting! The City is building a new bikepath along the right-of-way of the old railroad tracks which used to be the Carondelet Canal here in New Orleans. In the block bounded by Conti St, Jeff Davis Pkwy (Northbound), Lafitte St and Jeff Davis Pkwy (Southbound) is a junction of three bikeways: the Jeff Davis Bikeway, the Bayou St John Bikeway and the Lafitte Greenway. At the very junction itself they are building a miniature roundabout!
